SUMMARY
Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as frames, stands, reels, shafts, and parts by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using MIG/TIG/Torch welding equipment.
Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
Uses acetylene/plasma arc equipment to cut metal parts to print specifications.
Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Responsible for reading blueprints, carrying out welding requirements, and ensuring product quality. Required to perform duties following work order process sheets.
Will be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Maintains and sustains 5S within the department.
Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines. Any changes or corrections must be communicated to appropriate departments so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.
Understands, supports, implements, and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals.
Supports and upholds the quality and EHS policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification in Welding trade preferred
