PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, headquartered in Andalusia, AL, is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative serving the wholesale power needs of 20 distribution members – 16 electric cooperatives and four municipal electric systems – in Alabama and northwest Florida. JOB SUMMARY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in Wage and Salary administration, regulatory compliance, which includes Equal Employment legislation and Affirmative Action, staffing and recruitment activities, labor relations, employee relations, employee training and development, employee benefit programs and the Human Resources Management System. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a closely related area. In addition, the incumbent should possess the ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assists with implementing the Cooperative Wage & Salary Compensation Program to ensure an accurate definition of positions, accurate and effective salary administrative and effective performance management.

 - Assists with coordinating and participating in labor and employee relation activities to ensure accurate interpretation and proper administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and Cooperative policies and procedures. Assists with providing guidance and advice in relation to contract interpretation, corrective action, performance improvement and resolution advice to management and supervisors. –

Assists with the staffing and recruitment activities which includes internal and external job postings, coordination of interviewing process and related testing requirements, selection process, hiring logistics and appropriate tracking requirements as well as promotional activities, in order to fulfill Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity responsibilities; assists with coordinating the on-boarding process for new employees and off-boarding process for exiting employees. –

Assists with coordinating effective regulatory compliance in all areas of Human Resources as governed by the Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Homeland Security, and other federal and state agencies through interpretation, development, implementation, and communication of policies, procedures and practices. –

Assists with coordinating the Cooperative’s training and employee development programs to ensure education of employees as it relates to Cooperative policies, procedures and practices as well as on-going development of all classifications of employees based on individual and corporate needs of management, professional, technical, and clerical employees. –

 Assists with researching, analyzing, evaluating and recommending modifications to benefit programs as needed to meet the needs of the Cooperative; assists with monitoring the competitive trends in benefits and evaluating alternatives and the associated costs; assists with coordinating the administration of the benefit program to ensure competitiveness, proper communication and proper response to employee needs; ensures adherence and compliance with applicable government regulations and proper response to employee needs.

 – Assists with coordinating and maintaining the Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) which includes salary administration, job management, information management, staffing, employee relations, advanced benefit management, and self-service management.

- Responsible for ensuring the success of PowerSouth by promoting team work, group goals and objectives, proper communication and cooperation within the department, division, throughout the PowerSouth organization and with member systems.
